This line card may be used in slot M of the M3-CLOS-ENCL, M3-SPINE-ENCL, M3-CLOS-ENCL-B, or M3-SPINE-ENCL-B enclosures.

Specifications

Ethernet ports (2): Dual-redundant 10/100-Base-T Ethernet ports. The Ethernet MAC address is shown on a label on the front panel. Each RJ-45 Ethernet port has two green LEDs: the upper or "link" LED indicates that the port is connected to another active Ethernet port, and the lower LED indicates packet traffic.

Main Microcomputer: A Power-PC microcomputer with RAM and flash memory communicates via the front-panel ethernet ports, and via individual serial links with small microcontrollers on port line cards, on the two fan monitoring and control boards, on the power-supply board, and on the monitoring line card itself. The microcomputer also drives the color-TFT display on the enclosures. The turn/push knob on the monitoring card controls display, and can be used to input settings. The standard firmware runs under Linux, and provides a web server and other interfaces described elsewhere.

Small-microcontroller functions: Self-test, board identification, voltage monitoring, and temperature monitoring (upstream & downstream in the air flow). All status information is reported on demand through the serial link to the main microcomputer. The µC will shut off the line-card power on over-temperature (greater than 55C) or other fault conditions. The µC controls a Status LED on the front panel: Off: not operating; Green: operating. Yellow: fault.

Power requirements: +12V input power @ 1A (12W) maximum. The line card is hot-swappable.

Physical characteristics: 9U-220mm card per IEEE 1101.10, with specialized connectorization. Weight 1.4 pounds (640g).

Environmental limits: Operating: Temperature 15C to 50C up to 10,000 foot altitude. Relative humidity 15% to 80% @ 50C, non-condensing. Storage: Temperature -40C to 70C. Relative humidity 90% @ 65C.

Regulatory Approvals: When properly installed in the enclosure, the line card is fully compliant with EN55024 (1998), EN55022 Class A (1998), VCCI Class A (May 1999), FCC Part 15 Subpart B Class A, CISPR 22/85 Class A, ICES-003 Class A (ANSI C63.4 1992), and AS/NZS 3548 Class A (w/A1 & A2 1997).
