This 8-port Myrinet switch automatically selects the 1.28+1.28 Gb/s or 0.64+0.64 Gb/s link data rates according to the type of LAN cable, operates on only 11 Watts (typical), requires no cooling fan, and has an MTBF in excess of 1,000,000 hours. It is self-initializing, and can be located almost anywhere -- in a wiring closet, in an office, over a drop ceiling, under a computer floor, or in an equipment rack.
Internal switch: 8-input, 8-output, full-crossbar implementation
with each channel operating at 1.28 Gb/s for a total bisection data rate
of 10.24 Gb/s.

Cut-through latency: ~300ns.
Physical characteristics: 10"x10"x1", 2 lbs, plus
