This rack-mount, Myrinet-SAN switch was designed for large clusters that can employ SAN interconnect. It exhibits "full" bisection bandwidth between 16 hosts, and conserves 16-link bandwidth between the host connections and the inter-switch connections.

The "OCT" switch was designed to support two styles of network topologies.

Specifications

Myrinet-SAN ports (32): 1.28+1.28 Gb/s data rate on each port.

Cut-through latency: ~100ns per 8-port switch traversed.

Physical characteristics: 1U, 19" rack mount. 17" x 11.5" x 1.72".

Power: IEC input 85-265 VAC, 50-60 Hz, ~25W typical, fan cooled.
