Log

From the top-level menu of the web interface to the switch

click on Log and the following web page will appear. This web page will detail all occurrences of specified switch traps.

By default, no traps/counters are logged. In order to collect logging information for any of the switch traps, we must first select the desired switch traps via the Filter webpage. Only traps occurring after they are enabled on the Filter webpage will appear in the Log, which should refresh itself on browser reload or when you click the Refresh button. The Log will be removed/reset when you click on the Clear button.

And here is an example Log output.

From the tabular output, you can see the time when the trap occurred, the location where the trap occurred, the name of the trap that was triggered, and the number of times the trap was increased since the last time that component was rebooted.

Currently, the Log is limited to 1000 entries, and will roll-over when this limit is surpassed.

It is also possible to monitor these traps/events through SNMP, as there is a trap for each of them. (These will be sent to any SNMP client that has registered itself through the notify-mib mechanism.) Refer to this FAQ entry for details.
