Features of the Web Interface

Status

From the top-level menu of the web interface to the switch

click on Status and the following web page will appear. This web page lists a summary of the contents in each slot of the switch. For example,

From this example, we can see that

slot m contains the monitoring line card (10G-MONITOR);
slots 0-7 are empty;
slots 8-11 contain 10G-2SW16LC spine line cards;
slot 12 contains a 10G-SW16LC-6C2ER host line card;
slots 13 and 14 are empty;
slots 15-18 contain 10G-SW16LC-8C host line cards;
slots 19-26 are empty;
slot 27 contains the power supplies (10G-POWER);
slots 28 and 29 contain two fans per slot (10G-FAN);
slot 30 is empty.

Note: If we click on all in the upper right-hand corner of the page, it will expand all of the hidden information for each slot into one large webpage containing all of the switch information. This is useful if we would like to examine the entire switch dump for the switch.

For demonstration purposes, we shall examine

as examples of the types of switch line cards and the diagnostic data available for each.
