Status

From the top-level menu of the web interface to the switch

Click on Status and the following web page will appear. This web page lists a summary of the contents in each slot of the switch. For example,

From this example, we can see that

• slot m contains the monitoring line card (M3-MONITOR);
• slots 0-7 contain M3-SW32-16F switch line cards;
• slots 8-11 contain M3-2SW32 switch line cards;
• slots 12-13 contain M3-SW32-16F switch line cards;
• slots 14-22 are empty;
• slot 23 contains the power supplies;
• slots 24 and 25 are empty;
• slots 26 and 27 contain two fans per slot;
• slots 28-30 are empty.

Note: If we click on all in the upper right-hand corner of the page, it will expand all of the hidden information for each slot into one large webpage containing all of the switch information. This is useful if we would like to examine the entire switch dump for the switch.

For demonstration purposes, we shall examine

• slot m M3-MONITOR
• slot 2 M3-SW32-16F
• slot 8 M3-2SW32
• slot 23 M3-POWER
• slot 26 M3-FAN

as examples of the types of switch line cards and the diagnostic data available for each.

If the switch contained M3-THRU-16Q or M3-4SW32-16Q line cards, refer to these additional examples of the web interface output.
