MX can be installed graphically via the Device Manager as described in the following web pages: http://www.myri.com/scs/ntsupport/win2k/win2k_support-mx.html http://www.myri.com/scs/ntsupport/winxp/winxp_support-mx.html MX can also be installed from the command line using the following tools: mx_setup.exe mx_mapper_setup.exe tuneparams.exe 1) mx_setup.exe usage: mx_setup --install mx_setup --remove mx_setup.exe will install MX on all Myrinet cards. For example, if mx was unzipped into c:\mx, then "mx_setup --install c:\mx\mx.inf" will launch the installation process on each Myrinet card in the system. mx_setup.exe will also remove the MX driver from all Myrinet cards with "mx_setup --remove". NOTE: The removal process is the reverse of the installation process. You should uninstall the mapper before uninstalling the driver. Instructions on removing the mapper appear below. 2) mx_mapper_setup.exe usage: mx_mapper_setup --install mx_mapper_setup --remove mx_mapper_setup.exe will install the MX Mapper for all Myrinet cards. Again, if mx was unzipped into c:\mx, then "mx_mapper_setup --install c:\mx\mx_mapper.inf" will install that MX Mapper. mx_mapper_setup.exe will also remove the MX Mapper with "mx_mapper_setup --remove". NOTE: Stop the mapper service using "net stop mx_mapper" before running mx_mapper_setup. 3) tuneparams.exe usage: tuneparams.exe tuneparams.exe modifies various registry entries to improve TCP/IP performance. In particular, it changes Tcp1323Opts to 1, TcpWindowSize to 524288, and DefaultSendWindow and DefaultReceiveWindow to 65536. It will also reboot the system after changes are made. NOTE: tuneparams is case sensitive when it asks if you want to change the registry entry. You must press "Y" (capital Y) in order for it to make a change.
