Installing Open iSCSI software with the
Myri-10G 10-Gigabit Ethernet Driver
To download Myricom-supported software, you need a login and password.
If you don't already have these, please request them.
Myri-10G iSCSI Enterprise Target Installation Instructions
Install a Linux distribution with a 2.6.14 kernel or newer on the Target node.
Download the iSCSI Target (iscsitarget-0.4.13.tar.gz) from SourceForge, and follow the installation instructions in the README to install this software on one of the two nodes. In the /etc/ietd.conf file:
If you intend to use iSCSI Digests, it is easiest to enable their use on the Target and then have the Initiator negotiate them on or off. To enable them on the Target:
Load the iSCSI Target module and daemons
su root /etc/init.d/iscsi-target startand verify startup in the output in dmesg.
Myri-10G open-iSCSI Initiator Installation Instructions
Install a Linux distribution with the 2.6.14 or 2.6.15 kernel on the Initiator node.
Download, uncompress and untar iSCSI Initiator (open-iscsi-1.0-485.tar.gz) from the Open-iSCSI website.
Install the open-iSCSI Initiator as per the README in top-level directory. As the README explains, you will need to patch the open-iSCSI kernel module with the kernel/2.6.14-and-2.6.15-compat.patch.
Set up /etc/initiatorname.iscsi with a valid initiator name.
Start the daemon and log the Initiator into the daemon with the iscsiadm command.
Determine the name of the iSCSI disk on the Initiator from the output in dmesg. You may now treat this disk as a local disk. I.e., create a filesystem on it or run iometer or disktest against it.
iscsiadm -m node -r c98eb6 -o update -n node.conn[0].iscsi.DataDigest -v CRC32C
