Note: It is possible to significantly improve the Hardware Read DMA speed and the Hardware Read/Write (bidirectional) DMA speed by using the setpci command to enable DMA-completion coalescing. The current BIOS on this motherboard does not enable this feature by default. Allowing the chipset to combine Read-DMA packets in up to 256-byte-sized packets (instead of the default of 64-byte), we have seen the Read DMA speed increase to 14.152 Gb/s, and the Read/Write DMA speed increase to 27.5 Gb/s.
