Test results using Myri-10G NICs without a switch
Hardware Write Speed (Gb/s) 13.890
Hardware Read Speed (Gb/s) 10.600
Hardware Read/Write (Bidirectional) Speed (Gb/s) 21.000
Netperf TCP STREAM, MTU 9000 (Mb/s)
Netperf TCP SENDFILE, MTU 9000 (Mb/s)
Netperf UDP STREAM, MTU 9000 (Mb/s)
Netperf TCP STREAM, MTU 1500 (Mb/s)
Netperf TCP SENDFILE, MTU 1500 (Mb/s)
Netperf UDP STREAM, MTU 1500 (Mb/s)

Note: It is possible to significantly improve the Hardware Read DMA speed and the Hardware Read/Write (bidirectional) DMA speed by using the setpci command to enable DMA-completion coalescing. The current BIOS on this motherboard does not enable this feature by default. Allowing the chipset to combine Read-DMA packets in up to 256-byte-sized packets (instead of the default of 64-byte), we have seen the Read DMA speed increase to 14.152 Gb/s, and the Read/Write DMA speed increase to 27.5 Gb/s.
