The M2L-SW16 family of switches has an Ethernet (10-BaseT) port for out-of-band monitoring of the switch. The switch is labeled with its Ethernet ID (48-bit UID). To enable SNMP access you must have a RARP server on the same Ethernet as the switch. Once the switch gets its IP address, it is available for SNMP access. It listens on port 4003 for SNMP messages.
