Bob Felderman

Adjunct Assistant Professor, USC Computer Science Dept.
Member of the Technical Staff, Myricom, Inc.

Bob Felderman graduated Magna Cum Laude from Princeton University in 1984 with a double major in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science and Systems Engineering. After spending a year with Hughes Aircraft Company working on guidance systems for torpedos, he returned to the good life of academia, completed his Master's and Ph.D. degree in Computer Science at UCLA in 1986 and 1991 respectively. In 1991 he was named one of three Outstanding Ph.D. Students by the UCLA School of Engineering and Applied Science. His Ph.D. research under the direction of Leonard Kleinrock focused on performance analysis of distributed systems.

After graduation from UCLA, he joined USC/Information Sciences Institute (ISI) High Performance Computing and Communication Division (HPCC) where he worked on the ATOMIC project for two and a half years before leaving ISI to help found Myricom.

His current research interests include high-speed local area networking, distributed and parallel systems, distributed simulation and performance modelling and analysis.

When he's not hanging out with his wonderful wife, Eve Schooler, he can generally be found in the great outdoors, often with frisbee in hand.

If you're interested in some of my research papers here's a Bibliography.
