Susan Blackford

Susan Blackford's primary job responsibilities are user support, documentation, and software testing. Before joining the software development team at Myricom, Inc., she was a Senior Research Associate at the University of Tennessee's Innovative Computing Laboratory (1990-2001). Her interests lie in high performance computing, and she specializes in development, testing, and documentation of high quality mathematical software. She was involved in the design, implementation, and support of the software packages LAPACK and ScaLAPACK, and was later involved in the use of numerical libraries in NetSolve.
Susan was born and raised in Nicholasville, Kentucky, and is a University of Kentucky basketball fan. She received her B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Tennessee in 1988 and her M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Tennessee in 1990, under the guidance of Dr. Michael T. Heath. Her husband, Patrick Geoffray, is a Senior Programmer at Myricom, Inc. She has two children, Christopher and Katie, and two dogs, TinTin and Sam.
